King`s Country Inn in Hooven

GREAT food (putting it lightly) a warm atmosphere, stocked liquor, MASH on the tube, jokes and laughter constantly ringing out!

Great for but no long serve alcohol

Seems like after they lost their liquor license they went down hill! They no longer make chicken and dumplings, I called to see why and they told me the owner just hasn’t ordered chicken. I’ve stopped in at least 6 to 8 times only to be disappointed. I tried to go yesterday for dessert and no desserts.but before that there seemed to be what looked like an over dose right in front of the second door. No cars past 8 pm most days. I don’t dare try to eat there now! It looks like they are about to close down!

Very good lunch hopper sandwich

Stood waiting at the bar for over 30 minutes before anyone even came up to greet me. This happens with only 2 other patrons in the entire restaurant (who were an old geriatric couple), & what counts out to be 4 to 6 workers standing around in a circle with this bias, obtusely stare back. As someone who has a thrist for redemption; history has taught me that whether dining in or getting carryout, attitude/customer service outweighs mediocre food. This place described in 4 words = Good Food, Awful Aftertaste 🐟🤨👎

I went. There to day and there closed i dont no if they shut down or what i know they stop serving beer and whiskey a few weeks ago Y

Arrived about 3 and I asked if I should sit anywhere. The waitress was pretty quick to take my order which was the fish sandwich and came with fries and cole slaw. The fish sandwich arrived but I did not get the fries and cole slaw. The fish was enough. The sandwich was good but I have had just as good. Not the best I ever had!Not sure what happened with the fries and slaw but someone with more of an appetite may have been miffed!All in all it was okay. That's it!

Great place to eat, have a few drinks & hangout. Jenna Lee is awesome & so is the food!!! Definitely will go there again!!

Great service & great food!

The food is consistently good. Nothing fancy, but well prepared and tasty. The desserts are out of this world. You won't find a better pie anywhere.

It’s an older worn out building but the Cod nuggets are excellent.

We love to go here! The fried cod is the best! Fried chicken is a favorite too, but made from scratch and takes about 45 minutes. Regulars call ahead to get it started. Cole slaw, hot slaw, croutons for the tossed salad, all on the salad bar and homemade. Decor is not fancy, but the food is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. Always one of our favorites.

Kings Inn has the best food ever! Large portions, hot and delicious. I'd recommend to anyone!

My wife and I went for Lunch today for our first ever visit and the place was great. Cod sandwich platter was amazing and the lady who served us was friendly and happy. Price was reasonable as well. We also noticed a nice big salad bar for our next visit soon. Two thumbs up!

I have been going to Kings Country Inn for years. The food is really good and so is the service that you get there! 💜

Fish sandwich was very good and tasty, the breading on the fish was light and crispy. Could not forget the onion rings and Cole slaw.Service was good and the atmosphere was friendly.

Lost there beer licenses. NO alcohol and no desserts. Fish was still good.

Used to be amazing. Kinda gross in appearance, and there's a broken cooler just sitting there, FILTHY, and you can see it while you're eating.

CLOSED. I WAS TOLD OWNER DIED. This local legend will be missed!Local restaurant for as far back as I remember. Was well known especially for its Jumbo Fish meals, sandwiches, desserts, & salad bar. Friendly bar, if you were thirsty.

Had the cod with homemade tartar sauce. It was excellent! Will definitely be going back.

Best fish dinner and frog legs dinner around. Excellent service. Been going there for over 30 yes. Staff makes you feel like family. Highly recommend Kings in.

I love the Icelandic cod dinner. If you leave hungry it's your fault. Great food and service.

The fish is the best in town, and the homemade tarter sauce is to die for. Family cooking and recipes with a great salad bar and homemade soups!

Our experience at this restaurant was poor. We waited 30 min. and had to ask for a waitress. People around us were waited on and served before our order was taken. By the time our order was taken we had to take our meal to go because our lunch hour was well over. The waitress was unhappy and could not be bothered to serve us. Food was not worth the time or experience. We were told ,"sorry about your experience but we were busy". I prefer a restaurant where you are welcomed and appreciated!

Parking was full, and that's always a good sign. With neon beer signs in the windows of an aging building, this is not the kind of place I would normally take the wife. Nevertheless, it was recommended by a friend-of-a-friend, and Google reviews looked great. On the plus side; food was good and waitstaff nice. Prices were very good. On the down side; the place is a little dated with 1970's wood paneling and drop-down ceiling tiles. Restrooms could use a coat of paint, but not filthy. Overall the place was better than it looked, but I doubt we'll return.

Love the fish nuggets and hot slaw! Never disappointed or hungry when I leave 😊

First time there very good food and server

Been,going here for quite a few years. Great food. However I was really disappointed and shocked about the service on a recent Saturday night. They stopped selling alcohol. No explanation.And the young waitresses were very poor in waiting on tables. We waited about half hour for someone to take our order. We got our drinks. They never came back,untill,I waved at one of them They never checked on us after we got our food. And took another 20 mins. For someone to get our check. I was really more embarrassed because we had friends from out of town and we boasted about this place. What a slap in my face after all of this.

It's a truck stop restaurant, and we went here because is was reccomend by a friend. It was crowded, we waited a few minutes, got seated and got drinks, ordered food. It came out timely hot fresh and nobody in our party of four could finish. We really like this place. It's really next door 100yards from truck stop. But is like home cooking . It's a older place. We would good back.
